Abstract

Heat tolerance in Daphnia is related tolactate production. Acclimation temperature affects LDH. LDH substrate inhibition prevents high lactate formation. Anaerobic LDH capacity is higher in Daphniamagna than in Daphnia pulex. Differentia lLDH isoform expression adds to heat tolerance.
