SFB TRR 61 B02 - Pattern formation in dynamic self-assembly systems

Basic data for this project

Type of project: Subproject in DFG-joint project hosted at University of Münster
Duration: 01/07/2012 - 30/06/2017 | 2nd Funding period

Description

The purpose of this project is to extend the experimental and theoretical studies of Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) patterning based on dynamic self-assembly to a wider class of dynamic pattern forming systems by the combined activities of three groups: a theoretical group (R. Friedrich), an experimental group (L.F. Chi) and a synthesis group (Z.H. Wang). We are going to focus on the following aspects: 1. Understanding the mechanisms behind LB pattern formation influenced by pre-patterned surfaces in order to achieve complex pattern control; 2. Systematic study of dendrite pattern formation and thickness control with molecular precision in dip-coating process; 3. Applying dynamic self-assembly to functional molecules.
