SPP 1391 - Ultrafast nanooptics - Teilprojekt: Femtosecond quantum optics with semiconductor-metal hybrid nanostructures

Basic data for this project

Type of project: Subproject in DFG-joint project hosted outside University of Münster
Duration: 01/02/2013 - 30/06/2015 | 1st Funding period

Description

Goal of the project is the ultrafast initialization, manipulation, and readout of single electrons with single photons in a single self-assembled semiconductor quantum dot. The efficient coupling between the light field and the nanoobject is provided by an optical antenna. The ultrafast dynamics in the quantum dot - metal nanoantenna hybrid system is studied via ultrafast pump-probe spectroscopy. For further increase of the light-matter coupling the hybrid system is placed into an optical microcavity.
