Description

Ultrasound-based diagnostic medical imaging techniques are used to visualize muscles, tendons, and many internal organs, to capture their size, structure and any pathological lesions with real time tomographic images. Ultrasound has been widely applied to image the human body for at least 50 years and has become one of the most widely used diagnostic tools in modern medicine. Currently, substantial on-going works are performed to further improve this imaging modality. The objective of this project is to support the recent ultrasound development by solving the inherent problems of motion detection and correction, organ segmentation, and classification (i.e. distinction between border-zone myocardium from scar- and remote myocardium) based on advanced computer vision and pattern recognition techniques.
