PIONEER - ERASMUS Mundus Master "Public Sector Innovation and eGovernance"

Basic data for this project

Type of project: EU-project hosted outside University of Münster
Duration: 01/10/2016 - 30/09/2021

Description

The general idea behind the creation of the master programme PIONEER is that the public sector needs interdisciplinary expertise in order to be able to fully benefit from the potential of ICT and technological innovations. Within a context wherein ICT becomes increasingly important for the modernisation and innovation of the public sector, the sector itself needs experts (1) who are able to translate technological expertise into efficiency, effectiveness, performance and user needs, and (2) who are able to take into account the organisational, cultural, social and structural peculiarities of the public sector when implementing new technologies. As a result, interdisciplinary education has become a necessity. PIONEER offers those competencies. In sum, PIONEER (1) addresses the need of public administrations and the potential benefit of ICT for the future development of public administrations and their service delivery; (2) addresses a gap in the Higher Educational Market; (3) fills a gap in specific required interdisciplinary competencies in the field of public sector innovation and eGovernance. PIONEER is co-funded by the European Union ERASMUS+ programme.
