Zusammenfassung

A rapid micellar electrokinetic chromatography method with diode-array detection has been developed for the identification and quantitative determination of the therapeutically important styrylpyrones from Piper methysticum extracts and commercial drugs. Using fused-silica capillaries with a borate buffer containing sodium-taurodeoxycholic acid and ß-cyclodextrin kavain, dihydrokavain, methysticin, dihydromethysticin, yangonin and demethoxyyangonin were fully separated and quantified within 15 min with 4-hydroxybenzoic acid methyl ester as I.S.
