Zusammenfassung

The project of Mini-Handball is very well accepted in universities in Brazil, being in descent mode as much as high performance as the school context. In 2000 the project of Mini-Handball was implemented by the Brazilian Handball Confederation (CBHb), in many states of Brazil nowadays about 14,000 children from 08 to 12 years were participating. The development of this idea occurs in a much more playful than competitive way; classes are designed to provide a variety of movements through the combination of different motor skills, techniques and strategies. Therefore, Handball can be a very important practice for the future development of children’s motor skills. The focus of this study was to follow the progress of the Project of Mini-Handball in one school in Guarulhos. The results of our study confirmed the earlier results fromCBHb. At the beginning the project started with 25 students, a few months after the first class 180 students came along. We concluded that the idea and strategy of the project of Mini-Handball was well-accepted by the students and could be a good motivating factor to continue playing handball in the future.
