Zusammenfassung

At present the scientific community increasingly focuses on the handling of research data. By now the value of such data for further research questions or as proof of accuracy of the studies conducted is indisputable. Thus, science organizations such as the German Research Foundation (DFG) more often call for a professional approach interms of a research data management which regulates secure storage as well as issues of making data available to the community as defined by the principles of open science. To date, however, there are hardly any empirically supported statements on the implementation in research practice. This survey, conducted among approximately 1,000 scientists of different academic disciplines at Münster University (WWU) in 2014, provides insights concerning this matter and demonstrates differences between the disciplines.
